This unit is based on the National Occupational Health and Safety Commission (NOHSC) guidelines and describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to maintain store safety in a retail environment.

This course is self paced and as a guide most students complete whilst working within a 1 month period.

Training support is provided by online trainers, email and telephone contact.

This unit involves informing and involving team members with regard to OHS, monitoring and maintaining a safe work environment, implementing emergency procedures, identifying the need for OHS training, and maintaining OHS records. This course is self paced, with competency based assessments.

Prequisites:

The Student ideally to complete the workplace assignments will be working in a Retail Store, or have access to a Retail Store. The Student should possess sufficient Retail experience to be able to draw on their experiences to complete the work place assignments as part of this Course. Access to an internet enabled Computer with the ability to view web pages and a valid email address.
