What you will learn in this program:
- Gain an overview of the substantial body of theory that forms the foundation of this methodology
- Understand the key principles of gamestorming design and how to design sessions that have target states, initial states. Create the overall plan that incorporates the opening, exploration and closing phases, each with their own purpose
- Learn how to apply the 10 essentials that are the criteria for successful sessions – opening and closing; fire starting; use of artifacts; node generation; creating meaningful space; sketching and model making; using randomness, reversal and re-framing; including improvisation; converging ideas and finally pushing to try something new each time
- Practise the core game storming skills so that you know how to ask questions, set up the room appropriately, make use of visual language and use the ‘body storming’ techniques
- Create a short-list of activities that would work well in any situation
- Begin the process of devising and putting in to practice the types of techniques that could be used for opening sessions and for further exploration. Try out some of the games for closing as well so that you feel confident to take these skills and immediately apply them in your meetings, programs and forums.
