Undertake concentrated and comprehensive training in the very latest theory and practice of auditing an OHS Management System (OHSMS).

This course forms part of the five-day Lead Auditor course and provides a technical understanding of AS/NZS 4801:2001* and AS/NZS 4804:2001 OHSMS from an audit perspective. This course may be undertaken as a stand-alone course if you have already completed a five-day Lead Auditor course in a different management system. Upon successful completion of this course participants should be able to:

Develop an OHS audit plan and audit tool
Gather information, data and OHS records
Undertake and report on OHS audit activities

Evaluate the effectiveness of OHS risk management and identifying OHS hazards
Assess whether the OHS management approaches improve performance
Assess and advise on organisational OHS compliance against agreed benchmarks

Prequisites:

There is no assumed prior knowledge for this course. Participants who are not already experienced auditors or who have not completed a recognised auditor training program (as defined by ISO 19011) may have difficulty completing the assessment requirements for this course. NB: Access to a workplace is required in order to be able to complete the post-course assessment.
